This guitar (body date 08/57, neck date 11/57) was purchased from the original owner in Rancho Santa Fe, CA in the late '80s. From there it has circulated among a number of dealers and collectors making its way to the east coast and eventually Europe. The current owner purchased this guitar in 1993 from a collector in Paris and brought it back to California. The guitar was  originally made in Fullerton, CA where Fender was located in the '50s.

The body on this guitar is made from one piece of Ash. Fender did not produce that many guitars in the '50s, they would set aside a nice grainy piece of wood to be used at a later date for something special... such as a Blonde finish. Call it blonde, call it special, call it "Mary Kaye".
