Geb Rault
Musical Biography

  • Geb Rault is a singer/songwriter born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At the age of six months he and his family moved back to their native home of New Orleans where Geb has resided ever since.

  • Some of Geb's earliest musical influences were from listening to his family's music collection. At age ten he began to learn piano and keyboard and was soon studying under a well known guitar teacher in New Orleans. Geb learned many of the styles he had been hearing all his life in the musically rich culture of New Orleans. Blues became his main interest at the time, along with other styles that had developed in his hometown, styles such as funk, second-line and Dixie-land jazz.

  • As a young teenager Geb took an interest in Page, Clapton, Hendrix and other "classic rock" greats. This led him to learn to play in the rock genre. By age seventeen he was playing in clubs around the city with his band at the time, called Speakeasy. Speakeasy gained it's popularity for their close renditions of Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Hendrix, and other classic rock.

  • Today Rault's homespun styles, coupled with high energy blues, captures the attention of any live crowd. These powerful live shows, along with Rault's songwriting abilities has made him a definitive success.
